Created in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), International Cat Day is a day to unite cat lovers across the globe in a celebration that recognizes the unique relationship between humans and cats.
International Cat Day is also a day of action, promoting the well-being, care, and protection of cats in general, including an estimated 230 million homeless cats.
Suggestions for marking the day include:
- Sharing photos of your cats on social media
- Pampering your puss with a favorite treat or toy.
- Donating to a feline charity
- Wearing cat-themed clothing to show your support
